Clothing Cart Online

What the application is

Created one marketplace flow where independent sellers could list clothing and buyers could discover products, manage a cart, and complete an order.

Who it was built for

Commissioned online marketplace project

My role

Web developer responsible for connecting seller listings, buyer discovery, carts, checkout, accounts, and the records behind each transaction

The problem

Independent sellers and buyers needed one clear process for listing clothing, finding products, managing a cart, and completing an order.

What I learned from the existing workflow

  • Sellers create listings, buyers search and purchase, and accounts keep track of activity.
  • Information comes from product details, stock, customer accounts, carts, and orders.
  • Without a shared marketplace, discovery and transaction details can be spread across messages and separate seller pages.
  • The experience needed to remain understandable across desktop, tablet, and mobile screens.

The solution

I designed the seller and buyer sides around shared product, stock, customer, and order records. Sellers could add listings, buyers could filter the catalog and manage a cart, and the checkout clearly summarized costs before creating the order.

Key decisions

  1. Design both sides of the marketplace Seller actions and buyer actions share the same product and order information.
  2. Make product discovery flexible Filters help buyers narrow a large catalog to relevant choices.
  3. Show costs clearly before checkout The cart summarizes the amount due so buyers can review it before ordering.

Result

Delivered the commissioned multi-seller workflow from product listing and discovery through cart, checkout, and account history. Sales or conversion figures were not available.

What I learned

Marketplace work made the relationship between interface and data especially clear. A simple-looking checkout relies on consistent product, seller, stock, customer, and order information behind it.
